Good News :)
Hi everyone
Yes, I have been on vacation so I have been remiss in posting as often as I should…at least that is what Dem Jones tells me :). Last Thursday we received some fairly good news as it relates to my breast cancer. Dr. Skinner at The Wilmot Cancer Center says the cancer is not as invasive as we thought. What does that mean..well it means no chemo and no mastectomy. HURRAY! I will have to have another surgery fllowed up with radiation. The next surgery will be in August. I tried to barter my way out of that, but Dr. Skinner was having none of it :)
I feel great and I soo appreciate all the e-mails everyone has been sending along with your good thoughts.
I will be at Nolas doing the whole COUGAR things this Friday night from 10-to-midnight…I hope to see you all htere..meow!

Kimberly,
I listen to you everyday. I am very happy for you and the prognosis that you received. You’ve stayed positive through this whole ordeal, and I am a firm believer of what is meant to be is meant to be. Just not your not your time to leave the radio scene. Congratulations and good luck with the next surgery. The rest is a piece of cake. You’ll have a nice suntan on your breasts after radiation..

Kimberly,
What a terrific bit of news this morning. I’m so glad for you. I emailed you a few weeks back and told you that I was scheduled for my first mammogram and was scared, but was forging forward with hopes for the best. Yesterday was the day and I got good news too. Thank you for bringing awareness to the importance of being checked. I’m so glad I can rest easy for another year.

kimberly,
I listen to you and Beck everyday. I have been for 6 years. I feel like I know you both. I was devestated when you announced you had breast cancer. I am so glad to hear of the news. I have been thinking about you and looking for a blog everyday. I just turned 40 and I know I need to get my first mamogram. I hope that this inspires me to not put it off. My prayers and thoughts have been and will continue for you and your Chloe and your mom. Enjoy your vacation.

Kimberly,
Im so glad for your news!! I also was at the Wilmot Center the same time you were but my news was not so good, I have a Lung nodule in my right lung which very likely is cancer, But I,m only 45 years old and I quit smoking 2 years ago, So My Doc Dr. Dan Raymond has to do exploratory surgery and remove my top part of my lung. My surgery is July 29th and I will not know if they are going to follow up with Chemo.till I wake up. just wish me luck.

So glad to hear the good news. Too many woman (younger and younger) are dealing with this devestating disease but.. and there is always a but… the good news is that breast cancer is no longer a death sentence. In fact, in the last five years I have known at least 12 women who have also dealt with breast cancer (including my mother) and, thankfully, ALL are in remission. Make sure that you take care of yourself in all the ways the docs tell you to and you will be well on your way to recovery in no time

Wonderful news Kimberly. You are in my thoughts and prayers. You have a good attitude and that is so important. Laughter is also good for you and you get plenty of that. God bless.

I wish you all the best and am glad to hear that everything will be ok for you. Thank you for being so open about your personal life. After hearing what you were going thru…I also made an appointment for my 1st mammogram. I had been putting it off for about a year and a half. My doctor wanted a baseline. I figured I was young and it didn’t run in my family…boy was I surprised when I was called back for an ultrasound. I had a needle biopsy perfomed this morning and will have the results in a day or two. I wish you all you the best and again….thank you!

Kimberly, keep up the great attitude. I am a breast cancer survivor myself, diagnosed at 31. You learn a lot of life lessons when you have to go through something like this. You will be surprised to see all the people that come out of the woodwork for you. Your positive spirit and openness is showing people that you can get through breast cancer. And look at what you have done already - have you noticed the couple of people on this blog that are getting mammograms because of you. You may be saving someone’s life. I wish you all the best as you get through your fight, you are a warrior!

Just to let you know that I am thinking of you every day and wondering how you are surviving day to day. I don’t know how I would react if I had to go through what you are. I thought your divorce was enough but to find out that you had that big C word. Wow!! Keep up the good faith and keep making the public laugh. Diane
