All My Pets are on Meds

I get to go to the vet today….twice.  I have, as many of you know, several dogs and 3 cats.  They are all adopted and are really grateful.  They are the best dogs and cats ever and I have had them for many years.  My terrier, Reebok, I have had since 1995 and two of my cats since “93″ and “94″ respectively.  Now that they are getting old, I have them to the vet more often.  3 of my animals are now on meds for thyroid conditions and one has cancer.  Ever try giving a cat 2 pills…yes, tons of fun :)  They love having their little mouths pried open and a pill slung down their little kitty throats.  I get that look and they run for cover every time I reach for the medicine bottle.  Cats are smart.  He has figured out that when I go to get the bottle and he hears it rattle, it’s time to make a break for it.  The animals have been great compnay over the years.  It makes me sad to see them getting old.  Chloe thinks its fun to give the dogs their meds.  She wraps the pills in ham.  Smart kid :)

    Hi, Kimberly!

I also have a cat that I have to give medication to daily also, and he is IMPOSSIBLE to pill. Have you tried Pill Pockets? You can get them at PetSmart or PetCo (PetSmart is cheaper!).

Now, instead of cramming a pill down his throat, I just give him a treat! He loves it!

    Good luck!

    Hiya kimberly,
I am a pet lover myself..I have 6 indoor cats and 4 outdoor cats (someone dropped off a prego mommy who had 3 babies)I also have a 8yearold 160 pound dog(rottie, irish wolf hound and blk lab).Last year I lost my golden ret. I had him 17 years I also lost my 2 18 year old cats.My heart was broken. It is hard taking care of them when they are older. They are smart, they would run when I got the pills down.My dog use to act like he took the pill and when ya turn around he spit it out.My pets are like my kids.It saddens me when I see how some people treat their pets. But it also makes my heart smile when I see someone like you, someone that cares about them..All my pets are fixed even the ones people drop off outside my house.Last year someone had the nerve to drop off a beautiful long haired black and white cat DECLAWED.I could go on for hours about my pets lol..But I wont bore ya ..I also want to say Im glad your feelin better..Keep smilin..

    Hi Kimberly,

Have you ever thought about natural for your pets? There would be no pills and all of your fustration and the stress for the kitties would be eliminated! My testimony of this stuff is that my doberman has “patch alopecia”, (a hair-loss disease) I apply Cedarwood oil to her bare spots and within 3 weeks she starts to grow her hair back. She also seems to be scared of anything above her that moves (umbrella from the umbrella table, celing fan etc…) I apply another oil to the back of her neck and on the pads of her feet and she is ok with that too. I don’t know how they work for her but somehow they do. She also knows when I am getting the oil out and she comes right over for them and she actually licks the Cedarwood oil off my hands when I am done. She love them and they are good for her! Let me know if you are interested in learning more. You can also check out my web site for more information. I do have a quicker way of finding what oil/oils you would need and can let you know before you go on a search. I would just need to know their diagnosis. If cancer…where?
