My Big Girl

Don’t you remember the days when summer ended and you got to go shopping with mom for back-to-school clothes?  Loved that, hated summer ending.  Chloe is 10 and going into 5th grade.  I took her school shopping last week before my surgery.  We hit the stores hard.  She loves Happy Bunny T-shirts and  that monkey that is on all the t-shirts and pajamas :)  We had a great time shopping and going out to lunch.  I cannot believe my kid is wearing a ladies size 7 1/2 shoe.  I do believe she will be close to 6′ when she is done growing.  She did not get her height from me :)  I also do not when she became so financially conservative.  She told me several times that she didn’t need another pair of shoes, we had already spent too much.  Helloooooo!!!  Whose child is this and where did she come from :) lol.  I remember telling my mother I just couldn’t live if I had to choose between two pairs of shoes I loved, and why couldn’t we just get both.  Which, by the way, has always been my philosophy on a great pair of shoes, “can’t decide, buy both”.  In the end, we got her ears pierced again.  The last time, one ear got so infected the earring had to be pulled out by the doctor.  She got two pairs of size 7 1/2 shoes, several pairs of jeans, a couple of bras,(yes, we love the pretty pink bras) more shirts than she needs, and  had an awesome time, just mom and daughter shopping away a Saturday!

    ahhh…retail therapy. That’s the best.

I remember being about 9 and my mom took me shopping for back to school clothes, then we had a fashion show later at home. My mom lives with the same philosophy and, I admit, it rubbed off a bit. But I, too, am a little more practical like Chloe — it’s not if the shoes are too cute but if they fit well, buy two pairs. (Hence, why all my brown and black shoes look the same now.)

I took my two girls out Saturday for clothes. My olds is going into 8th grade and doesn’t really want anything. MY little one is going into 5th and loves everything and wants to look really “Hot” (scares the hell out of me) . I pity the guy she ends up with because they wont be able to afford her. LOL I’m glad you had a great time with your daughter and glad you are back and feeling well!!!
